Artificial intelligence has been on everyone's lips not only since ChatGPT. For early childhood education, the continuous (further) development of AI means a great challenge: On the one hand, a reflective and responsible approach to AI appears to be an important prerequisite for its productive, just, social and peaceful use. On the other hand, there is a lack of basic research, practical experience, tried and tested methods and approaches in the field of early childhood education and AI.

About „I’m not a Robot“
Working with artificial intelligence in early childhood education
For three years, educational professionals and scientists from Italy, Denmark, Lithuania and Germany have been working in a European project on the question of how to create a basis for a reflective and responsible approach to AI in pre-school education.
The approaches developed, compiled and tested in the project are available as toolboxes. Pedagogical professionals will find innovative didactic methods as well as interesting materials for use in kindergartens.
The project "I'm not a robot: working with artificial intelligence in early childhood education" is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
For the introduction to the toolboxes, an e-learning platform is available to the pedagogical teams. Here they receive theoretical inputs and try out the practical implementation of the exercises from the toolboxes in the team, with daycare children and with parents. After reflecting on this implementation, they decide which of the toolboxes they want to include in their pedagogical work in the medium to long term.
